Customer Service Review – Las Iguanas
Looking to expand my horizons on the beverage front, I decided I needed a new cocktail bar on my radar – and on this particular night, Las Iguanas caught my eye. I’d heard excellent things about this cheeky Mexican restaurant, with particular emphasis placed on their exceptional cocktail menu. With my expectations high and my cocktail interest piqued, I entered this den of liquid delights.
The ambience inside the place was immediately lovely – a combination of gorgeous evening lighting and unobtrusive music made me feel exceptionally thirsty, so I took myself to the bar. Here I saw a team of expert mixologists working their liquid magic.
I perused the menu in search of whatever sounded the naughtiest – and settled on a Mexican Jack. I ordered a couple, seeing that I’d happened upon this cocktail menu during happy hour, and watched the barman work wonders. I rarely notice the quality of customer service in bars – which I guess indicates that it’s rarely exceptional. In this case, however, I was consciously impressed by how friendly the barman was, greeting me with a welcoming smile and later complimenting me on my order.
Admittedly the making of the drinks took a long time – long enough that I noticed it was taking a long time. But I wouldn’t hold this against them, as I can fully appreciate the skill and effort that goes into creating the perfect cocktail.
When I was later presented with their delicious-looking concoction, he apologised for the wait and hoped that I enjoyed it. Returning later to order two more of these sumptuous Mexican Jacks was indication enough that I had done. Better still, in spite of it being a busy bar on a particularly busy Friday night, the barman remembered my order every subsequent time – which is always flattering.
It’s little touches like this that, as far as I’m concerned, make the difference between satisfactory and exceptional customer service. An encounter as minimal as a drink order was enough to impress me as I later remarked to others on the particularly friendly and thoughtful service offered by the talented mixologists at Las Iguanas.
