We’ve had a ‘channel’ for our healthcare system for almost a year now. We mostly use it for content syndication and host our own FLVs for embedding on our website. It is a great way to get some additional exposure.

What a well researched post. The one thing I would add is that most people forget that YouTube is social media. So don’t just view your list of top channels as competitors but also as potential allies, in the same way one might a contact on Twitter or LinkedIn.

Too many people forget You Tube as part of the increasingly important social media marketing mix!
Maybe they think that making a video is really expensive. Admittedly it can be, but on the other hand, it may be one of the most important bits of footage you lay out for!
Yes Jason, these days good video can be cheaper than ever. And considering it has been shown to convert better than standard text and images, it’s most likely a worthwhile investment.
